Mobile App Makeover: Top 4 New Features

Our Mobile Banking app just got a makeover and we wanted to let you know about the new features in our latest update. We will have more major updates and changes coming to mobile and online banking this year, so keep your eyes peeled! Watch for updates on our blog, in your email or by checking the app stores:

Remember Me Login

New to this version is multi-user logins (similar to our iPad app); you will now have the ability to log in with different sets of credentials thereby accessing different sets of accounts. You can also specify a login ID that the app will remember, prefilling the login field when you open the app. The app still requires you to enter a password.

New and Improved Design

The app now has a sleek and modern user interface with a fast, touch-optimized workflow for key tasks. The workflow is more efficient as well; for example, you can view account balances and transaction history on one screen. Newly introduced tools reduce the number of steps needed to accomplish a task. Paying a bill within billpay is now accomplished in just five steps, instead of the 11 steps before, with the addition of the new quick pay options.

On the homepage you will also now see Custom Links (see image below). These are here to keep you up-to-date on the latest information, as well as provide you with quick tools, such as Forgot Password.

Touch Optimized Screens and Controls

This updated app leverages the best of current touchscreen capabilities. Screens based on large buttons and tiles make it easier to tap successfully on the action you want. Additionally, the updated app leverages device-specific tools that are familiar to you, such as the contact selectors within the app that are standard to Android and iOS.

Intuitive and Easier Navigation

Information has been reorganized to help you quickly review and find items you need; for example, by grouping transactions in Account History by date. Other aspects of the app have also been restructured such as terminology and feature locations. New action buttons are added to some actions such as “Make Another Transfer” button upon completing a transfer (see an example of this here).

The app also provides you with more information to help you make better decisions when taking an action, such as showing all of their contact methods when making a person-to-person payment. For example, when selecting dates, the app now shows today’s date underlined, the due date outlined and the currently selected day in gray.

Credit Card Changes: New Features, Rewards and More!

UPDATE:

As of Monday, April 25, customers can now access credit card information here. All customers will have to register for a new account.

Beginning Tuesday, April 26, customers will be able to see their credit card information within online banking


As of Friday, April 22, MyCardStatement.com is no longer accessible. On Monday, April 25, customers will be able to access their credit card account information through the new Credit Card Online Account Manager. Credit card account information will be available through Online Banking on Tuesday, April 26.

These enhancements include the issuance of new credit cards, so we want to make sure you’re in the know with what’s happening.

 

New Card, New Features

EMV Chip Technology
Your new credit will have an embedded microprocessor chip that stores and protects your data, which helps to increase security and reduce fraud. The chip will be in addition to the magnetic strip.

24/7 Cardholder Service
Call 1-855-632-9006 for balance inquiries, payment information, transaction history, statement requests or to dispute a charge.

Online Access through your FIB&T Online Banking
Real-time credit card information for transactions, pending activity, payment information, and custom email alerts. You can also sign up for electronic statements. Best of all, if you are currently using FIB&T online banking for your FIB&T deposit accounts or loans, you will now be able to locate your credit card information here as well. Gone are the days of logging into a separate credit card site!

New Rewards Program
Get ready for a more robust rewards program that allows you to redeem points towards shopping, travel, gift cards and more. Find out more below.

What You Need To Know

  • Your new card will be mailed on April 11, 2016. Please wait 7-10 business days for delivery.
  • New cards will be mailed to all cardholders, regardless of whether they are the primary or secondary cardholder. Your credit card number and your expiration date will change.
  • For security reasons, each secondary cardholder will have a new individual card number, CVV number and expiration date.
  • If you plan to use your card at any ATM, you will be required to use a PIN. You can select your unique PIN by calling 855-632-9006 and selecting option 7.
  • If you have automatic payments made with your current credit card, make sure to contact each vendor with your new updated credit card number to help avoid any interruption in your service.
  • As of April 25, 2016 you may be charged a $5.00 replacement fee for a Lost or Damaged chip card.

New Card, New Rewards

Beginning April 25, 2016, you will have a new rewards program.  We will be changing from ScoreCardRewards® to a program called UChoose Rewards®. UChoose Rewards® will allow you to redeem points on your credit card purchases to use towards shopping, travel, event tickets, gift cards and more. Important information about the transition of the rewards program to note is:

  • ScoreCardRewards® will no longer be earned after March 31, 2016.
  • You may start earning points with your new credit card starting April 1, 2016.
  • You may redeem your existing ScoreCardRewards® points up to May 31, 2016.
  • Any remaining points in the ScoreCardRewards® program after May 31, 2016 will be transferred to the new UChoose Rewards® Program.
  • All points that are transferred from ScoreCardRewards® program to the UChoose Rewards® program will be shown on your UChoose Rewards® account by May 31, 2016.
  • To register your card or to monitor and redeem your UChoose Rewards® points, visit www.uchooserewards.com.

Key Dates To Remember

  • March 31, 2016:  Last day to earn Scorecard® points
  • April 1, 2016:  Begin earning UChoose Rewards®
  • April 11, 2015:  New First International Bank & Trust credit card mailed
  • April 25, 2016:  Old credit card becomes inactive at 5:45 a.m. CST.
  • April 25, 2016:  Your new card will become activated for use.
  • April 25, 2016:  New rewards program begins with UChoose Rewards®

About GiGi’s Playhouse:

GiGi’s Playhouse is the first Down syndrome achievement center in North Dakota! They reach families not only in Fargo-Moorhead, but across the region. Serving children and adults of all ages with Down syndrome, GiGi’s Playhouse offers educational, social and therapeutic programs at no cost to families. All programs aim to maximize self-confidence and empower individuals to achieve their greatest potential. Helping children and adults at GiGi’s Playhouse extends beyond the Down syndrome diagnosis – their global message is acceptance. They believe in a kinder and more accepting world for everyone. GiGi’s Playhouse continues to celebrate the many achievements of their participants, develop new programs to benefit participants, and work tirelessly to change society’s outdated perceptions about the amazing potential of individuals with Down Syndrome.

About Special Olympics:

Special Olympics North Dakota (SOND) provides sport and physical fitness training and athletic competitions to more than 1,500 athletes throughout North Dakota in 15 Olympics-type sports. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Special Olympics plans to use the $500 from the Live First Community Grant towards their upcoming event in Minot, the State Basketball Tournament. Special Olympics North Dakota does not charge its participant or their family members a fee to participate in its programming or events, including the State Basketball Tournament.

Youthworks is a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing youth and family services throughout North Dakota since 1986. At Youthworks, they provide support services to youth and their families to meet goals for strong, healthy relationships. Their offices are located in Bismarck and Fargo and they serve the surrounding counties. Youthworks focus and expertise is working with at-risk and homeless youth as well as parents and young adults under 22 years old. The “We’ve Got You Covered” campaign is a community initiative that encourages collaboration among agencies, organizations and companies. It is a way for the community to actively take part in a campaign to improve the lives of area young people.

About Fargo Public Schools Foundation:

The Critical Needs Program is organized by the Fargo Public Schools Foundation to ensure that each and every student who needs help with basic needs receives support. Contributions to the Critical Needs Program helps individual schools who serve low-income families identify students most in need. All 23 schools in the Fargo Public School district have students who qualify for the free or reduced meal plan. This means that many families are struggling to make ends meet. In the past year, 15 of the 23 schools had an increased number of students become eligible for free and reduced meals. Currently over 3,000 students need financial assistance of some kind.

About Minot Park District:

The Oak Park Amphitheater was completed in September of 2015. On September 19th, they celebrated the completion of the Oak Park Amphitheater with their first Live at Oak Park with North Dakota’s very own Tigirlily. They had over 700 members of the Minot Community join them for a great evening of entertainment. As they look forward to the summer of 2016, they are excited for more Live at Oak Park events. The amphitheater is a great addition not only to Oak Park but the entire Minot community. By hosting free events to the public, they hope to provide entertainment for people of all ages. It is a great cultural opportunity to bring in musical artists as well as visual artists from local to statewide. Minot has a broad base of artistic talent and they hope to showcase that with the Oak Park Amphitheater.

About 4 Luv of Dog Rescue:

4 Luv of Dog Rescue is an independent dog rescue in Fargo, ND devoted to rescuing and rehoming dogs. Their rescue does not believe in breed discrimination and welcomes all breeds of dogs. Additionally, they do not discriminate based on the age or medical condition of the dog. The dogs they have available for adoption are all wonderful, loving dogs who deserve a second chance at life and love. There are many expenses incurred in caring for these dogs (pound pull fees, boarding fees, vaccinations, spay/neuter, vetting, dog food, transportation, adoption/volunteer advertising). They rely on adoption fees, fundraisers, and donations to cover their expenses. It is not uncommon for a dog’s adoption fee to be less than the expenses incurred while caring for the dog. They will use the grant to continue to have an impact on the lives of dogs.
